It’s a stark reminder for those innovating in the global aid industry: the old system - with its vested interests - won’t just let go, even when it’s under considerable pressure. Instead, a powerful dynamic driven by positive energy needs to be created. ⚡

#FutureOfCooperation

Here’s how the change is being driven:

  • Pioneers are experimenting with new ways of thinking and doing. 🚀
  • Protectors nurture new ideas and help to phase out outdated practices. 🌱
  • Community is key to sharing experiences and driving change. 🤝

What I am personally taking away from this for my journey:

  • I’ll continue to build my pioneer bootstrapped project with passion and endurance.
  • I’m actively looking for protectors and working hard to become one myself - a strong network is essential!
  • I’m committed to networking and connecting with other pioneers to learn and grow.

So, if you’re interested, get in touch and let’s collaborate! 🚀

The Two Loops Model by Margaret Wheatley and Deborah Frieze illustrates the transition from a dominant system to an emergent system through pioneers, protectors, and community building.

There is no doubt that we live in emotionally charged times. Uncertainty, change, and challenge can stir up a wide range of emotions - from fear and frustration to hope and gratitude.

The scale of some emotions with different energies www.are.na/block/326… that Dayvan preserved online made me think. It took me a moment to get the idea. It illustrates how emotions carry different frequencies and energies - from dense, survival-based emotions like fear and anger to elevated, expansive emotions like joy and love.

Here’s how I understand this:

🔼 Higher frequencies emotions such as gratitude, and joy correlate with positivity and expansion. 🔽 Lower frequencies, such as fear and shame, can make us feel stuck or overwhelmed.

While each emotion has its place, this scale serves as a reminder that we can intentionally shift our focus to elevate our emotional state. Small steps—like practicing gratitude or focusing on what we can control—can have a big impact on our mindset and well-being.

💬 Something to carry into next year!

A diagram titled “Scale of Some Emotions with Different Energies” showing emotions represented as waveforms. Higher-frequency, elevated emotions like bliss, love, and joy have tighter, faster waves, while lower-frequency, survival emotions like fear, guilt, and pain have slower, denser waves. The chart illustrates the energy levels associated with different emotional states.

In today’s fast-moving landscape, where technologies and customer demands evolve at lightning speed ⚡, traditional businesses face a critical challenge: keeping up. 📉 Their structures - designed for stability and efficiency - often make it difficult to pivot quickly enough.

A solution? Corporate Venturing. 🌟

By partnering with startups, launching internal ventures, or establishing accelerators and incubators, companies unlock a powerful edge: ✅ Access to cutting-edge technologies that reshape industries ✅ New business models to tap into emerging markets ✅ Speed and agility to respond to change faster than competitors ✅ A boost to entrepreneurial culture within the organization

Corporate venturing allows companies to combine their resources, expertise, and networks with the bold innovation of startups—a winning formula for long-term growth and resilience. 🌱

Of course, every opportunity comes with things to manage: 👉 Aligning corporate processes with startup agility 👉 Balancing risk with strategic goals 👉 Integrating new ideas into the core business

💡So will the future belong to those who combine the stability of established companies with the creativity and speed of startups?

🌟 Rethinking AI: From Misconceptions to Clarity 🌟

The term ‘artificial intelligence’ (AI) still causes a lot of confusion, so we should rebrand to ‘machine intelligence’.

What we call AI doesn’t “understand” in the same way as humans do. It recognises and creates patterns based on probabilistic models. It’s important to understand this difference because it helps us have realistic expectations and make the most of machine intelligence.

Even though this might seem a bit hair-splitting, let’s embrace the nuances and educate others about the true nature of AI. If we do this, we can help to build a more informed and innovative community, driving forward the impressive advances that machine intelligence offers.

If we can cut through the noise and get to the heart of what AI is really about, it’s much easier to work in a meaningful way. And this clarity doesn’t ignore the challenges, such as high resource consumption and potential negative impacts, e.g. on the workforce. But it helps us to talk more clearly and sensibly about what we can use it for and what problems we might run into.
