It might have caught some of your attention that I’ve been posting less and experimenting with the setup over the past few weeks.
I want to become more independent from individual platforms and organize my content myself. Additionally, I want to focus more on my own content and contributions to the communities.
Now I’ve found a setup that seems to work quite well for me presently. It looks like this:
- At the core, there’s my timeline on micro.blog. This platform is optimized for short messages under 300 characters (similar to what tweets used to be, or “toots” on Mastodon).
- Besides, I can also write longer posts there, which are then linked accordingly. From there, I cross-post to Bluesky, Mastodon, and longer posts to Medium.
- From Mastodon, I use IFTTT to cross-post to LinkedIn. There’s also cross-posting from micro.blog directly, but without images, which is suboptimal in my view (posts with images are still reported to gain more attention on LinkedIn).
I’ll now see how this setup proves itself :) What do you think? :)
